Muzeview / Practiceview
For this financial consultancy firm, we built custom intranet
and extranet database driven web applications.
They gather information from various sources such as emails,
xml / rss feeds, external websites, so we created several
applications to parse this data into their massive database.
One of the applications sniffs through emails and extracts
relevant data; another application parses xml and rss feeds
every 15 minutes and inserts the data in the appropriate
database fields and tables; and there is also an application
that allows for them to manually create new database records.
All this information is editable and searchable in their intranet.
This data is displayed in several exranet applications.
A separate database and extranet is automatically created
for each client and data from the 'master' database is
inserted and updated daily through a script that detects
to which database filter the client is subscribed.
This allows for quicker searches and it allows the clients
to use 3rd party software to connect to their personal
database without having access to data they didn't subscribe
to. There are several ways to search for data, and records
can be filtered further by several pre-defined filters.
Since this client has millions of records, we also provide
support and expertise on database improvement and optimization.
Blackfoot Telecommunications
Blackfoot is a major telecommunications provider in Montana. We developed several applications and solutions for their blackfoot.com site as well as for their intranet. A few of the pieces we developed for them are the integration of their new website; a press & media room, including a custom coded events calendar, search engine support and custom CMS functionality. For their intranet, we've done multiple projects for their blackboard application; we created back-end support for many of the database driven features on the public domain etc.
